About the Founder
Chayel was founded by Tanyel, a London-born creator with Turkish Cypriot heritage and a lifelong appreciation for authenticity, kindness, and quality. Her professional journey began in the corporate world, following the conventional route expected of her. But despite doing everything “right,” she felt uninspired and disconnected.
Refusing to settle for a life that didn’t feel meaningful, she stepped away from the traditional 9–5 and pursued what she had always quietly loved… hair. As she trained as a hairdresser, she developed a deep understanding of how hair influences identity, confidence, and one’s comfort in their own skin.
When she struggled to find luxurious, clean, genuinely effective products that addressed her own hair concerns, she began creating them herself. What started as a personal journey evolved naturally into Chayel: a brand rooted in ethical luxury, quality craftsmanship, and results that people can truly feel.
Tanyel’s philosophy is simple:
"Haircare should celebrate what you have, not encourage you to change it."
This belief shapes everything the brand creates… formulas designed to honour your natural hair and it’s potential, not mask it.
Despite being involved in every detail of the business, from formulation to creative direction, she remains intentionally low-profile. Her approach is understated, grounded, and guided by the belief that:

“I’ve always been a private person, someone who prefers to work quietly, keeping in my own lane. But building Chayel has taught me that sometimes your purpose is bigger than your fear of being seen.
I created these products because I wanted to love my own hair again, without resorting to drastic treatments or covering up what I was naturally given. I wanted others to experience that same confidence.
